Luc Besson (La Femme Nikita) brings us an adventure that is half live action and half CGI. Freddy Highmore is Arthur, a boy who attempts to save his grandmother's farm after his grandfather goes missing.
The film turns into lovely animation when Arthur follows clues which bring him to a mysterious new world filled with little people.
Arthur also meets up with a beautiful Princess (Madonna) and has to fight with her and an army to help save their land.
There's a cast of talented actors who lend their voices to the characters: Mia Farrow, Snoop Dogg, David Bowie and Robert DeNiro. The animation is quite good and the tiny world of the Minimoys is fascinating, but there's no charm to the movie. The eight year-old that accompanied me was happy to sit through Arthur and his adventure but I was not.
