The title suggests you might find a lot of toilet humor here, but this animated film from the people that brought us Wallace & Gromit, is good clean fun.
Hugh Jackman gives voice to Roddy St. James, a proper pet mouse that ends up being flushed down the toilet and finding himself in the sewer system beneath London.
The sewer is a whole world unto itself, made up of discarded items that find themselves being used in all kinds of new ways, and other unwanted animals that have made a life for themselves in the water canals.
Roddy meets up with Rita (Kate Winslet), a feisty rodent, and together they try to rid the world of the evil Toad (Ian McKellan) who makes life miserable for them.
There's plenty to like for both kids and adults. The characters are funny and charming, with Roddy the uppity, geeky mouse, Rita full of spunk and the Toad, who is just a real bad dude.
All of them are very entertaining, but the best of all is a group of slugs who break into song periodically to liven things up. Alone, they're worth the price of admission.
