Reese Witherspoon plays Lisa, a single softball player in James L. Brooks' new romantic comedy.
She's dating Matty (Owen Wilson), a good looking flirt. He's a pro baseball player and finding it difficult to commit to a serious relationship with her. Lisa's also having some commitment problems, because even though she moved into Matty's swank penthouse, she keeps bumping into George (Paul Rudd), a guy she could be interested in.
George shouldn't really be starting a new relationship however, as he's just lost his job at his father's (Jack Nicholson) company and is facing possible indictment, to boot!
With four talented actors and such an experienced filmmaker, I was expecting a lot more. More charm, more comedy and yes, a little more romance. Witherspoon and Rudd have no chemistry, Nicholson plays a very unlikeable character and Wilson, who is the best thing in it, doesn't have a very big role
