George Miller (The Man From Snowy River) directs this fantasy sequel to the 1984 original.
Young teen, Bastian Bux (Jonathan Brandis) enters the land of Fantasia through an opened storybook. Bux and his friend Falkor, who looks like a flying camel, have to conquer a malady that is spreading through Fantasia called Emptiness. One of the things Emptiness proposes is to ban fairy tales from the world.
The miniatures and special effects are amateurish, but kids won't notice. The film is fun, fast-paced and filled with lively characters.
